Joni has an undergraduate degree in Nursing  from Dalhousie University in Halifax followed by a Master’s degree in Nursing from University of Edinburgh in Scotland.She has worked for several years at the University of Calgary and CUPS Medical Center as a Research Coordinator and Hep C Nurse Clinician. Her current role includes clinical research in PSC and other liver/GI conditions. She also runs the infusion clinic. Nurse patient relationships are the key to her profession and one of the main reasons she enjoys working at Aspenwoods Clinic.
Dr. Stinton’s research interests include autoimmune diseases. She has completed advanced research training and is well published in scientific journals and has presented at international conferences. She has received many awards including the 2013 American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Clinical Research Award and the 2010 Canadian Medical Association (CMA) Award for Young Leaders.
